Yorkie Pups– Learning to Read Tiny Yorkie Puppies Before You Buy

There are some people who, after t heir first encounter with Yorkie pups, run out and purchase a Yorkie the first time they see an ad for Yorkie puppies for sale/adoption. Mother Nature pulled out all the stops on cuteness when it came to tiny Yorkie puppies, and it’s easy to understand why these rambunctious handfuls are now the second most popular breed of dogs in the US.

But snapping up the first Yorkie puppy which you see at a pet store or advertised in your local classifieds is not always the ideal way to find the ideal dog. Yorkie pups are reasonably easy to find; but great Yorkie pups are a different story. How can you go about choosing the Yorkie who will be the best fit for you?

One secret to sorting through the Yorkie puppies for sale/adoption in your area is to try to view them when they are still with their litter mates. Doing so will give you an idea of which Yorkie pups react gently to their brothers and sisters, and might therefore be more manageable why they are being trained. Some Yorkies are so hyper that they really have difficulty settling down to learn their lessons, and can drive their owners nearly to distraction.

You shouldn’t, however, try to take the easy way out and pick one of the tiny Yorkie puppies which spends its time curled up away from the action. Doing so may saddle you with an adult Yorkie who never properly socialized and isn’t much of a companion. If every puppy in a single litter seems to be indifferent to what is going on around it, then you are probably looking at an inherited trait that those Yorkie pups won’t grow out of.

The bottom line is that, while you should not automatically concentrate on the boss Yorkie pups when you are viewing Yorkie puppies for sale/adoption, you shouldn’t settle for the most submissive either. Try to find those which seem to enjoy mixing it up with their litter mates without having to dominate. Any Yorkie pups which appear alert, remain calm at your approach, and are confident enough to give your extended finger a nibble will probably adjust to you very well!

It seems like a good idea to observe Yorkie puppies with the rest of their litter to decipher their energy level. It seems like a good idea to see them with the litter because they will act themselves in their natural habitat. We have been considering purchasing a family dog but only if we can find one with good temperament. It seems the best way to observe that is to see the puppy with its brothers and sisters. http://uniqueyorkies.com/Yorkshire-Terrier-Puppies.html
